Government Y2K Rollover Passes Without Incident January 6, 2000 - Toronto - For the Ontario Ministries of Attorney General, Solicitor General, and Correctional Services, the Y2K rollover passed without a single reported incident of failure in any of their telecom systems. "This was the result of 18 months of preparation", says Robert Charuk, Transcend's President and Project Manager of the Y2K Telecom Project for the three Ministries. "The Project Team was very thorough, and the complete absence of Y2K-related incidents proves this." Project Team members were on duty round-the-clock during the December 31 - January 1 rollover period, just in case. "Given the public health and safety aspects of some of the Ministries' businesses, we wanted to be positioned to quickly respond to any communications incident", added Mr. Charuk. "Fortunately, New Years Eve was pretty boring for us". Transcend's involvement in the Ontario Government Y2K Telecom Project will wind down during the month of January, ahead of the planned March 31, 2000 project completion date.
