Large Courseware Development Project at Digital Equipment Corporation

May 1, 1997 - Toronto - Transcend Communications Corp. today was awarded a contract by PDR Automated Systems and Publications of Acton Massachusetts to provide subject matter expertise on a large courseware development project at Digital Equipment Corporation.  Transcend will provide content for two courses to be used internally by DIGITAL's Multivendor Customer Services (MCS) organization.

The courses, entitled "Internet Services" and "Internet Connectivity", are to be delivered in traditional lecture/lab format, and a new Computer-Based Instruction (CBI) format.  The CBI format is to be implemented over DIGITAL's Intranet using Web technology.  With Systems Engineers located around the world, DIGITAL expects to realize significant cost savings by delivering training-on-demand without expensive travel.

Transcend was chosen as subject matter expert and content provider because of its experience delivering Internet/Intranet solutions in a production environment, as well as its past performance developing courseware for DIGITAL.  The project is expected to be completed by October 1997.
